Whether asking for a raise or pitching an idea, “emotionalizing” your case helps people metabolize the information of your argument, says Guber.

Peter Guber says some interesting things about telling a story. A video and transcript is included at: To Win Someone.

I was thinking that what I do on this Forum isn't all that important because of the lack of responses from my threads and posts. I provide, mostly, information. But, to tell a story, that may be something I need to focus on....Hmmm.

I liked the article that you posted. "Emotionalizing" undoubtedly helps in story telling. I feel that even slight changes in words or inflection can add a whole new perspective to stories, and women seem even more aware of these qualities as they are revealed in the moment.

From the earliest I can remember, most of my friends have considered me to be an amazing story teller. I would assume this has something to do with charisma or my emotional range as I speak.

Now I am trying to focus on highlighting specific emotions while telling a story to really drive a point home, express myself, or get a good laugh!
