Between my sets, I like to rest for 3 minutes so that I can recover better. I tend to have a thing where I like to rush ahead, wait maybe 90 seconds or 2 minutes, which really isn’t enough time for me to rest my muscles to go into the next set full force. Particularly if you’re lifting really heavy weights, it’s recommended that you rest for a good 3 minutes. That’s just one less thing that I have to worry about if I have an interval timer.
Basically, what this does is I have set it 3 minutes, but you could set it for 30 seconds or a minute, or however long an interval you want. Then when the 3 minutes are up, it will vibrate me, or beep me, or do a loud deep or any combination of vibrations and beeps to alert me that I should be done resting and I could go on to the next set.
It has a very handy clip on the back, so you can attach it to your belts or to your gym shirt, or to your sleeve.
What I do is I wear gym gloves to prevent calluses on my palms but also to help stabilize my wrist and I simply attach the GymBoss here onto the strap, and there I have it on my wrist. Looks kind of futuristic, but I like it just because when it vibrates me, it’s vibrating on my wrist, so I really feel it and I know that my 3 minutes are up.
Now I think this is well built. It’s pretty cheap. It’s only about $20 on Amazon.com or $22.
It really helps me just free up my mental energy that I don’t have to worry about if I am resting long enough or if I am resting too long. It just makes things simple. I don’t have to think too much. I can just go on with my work out, and get it done and be very efficient about it.
So I recommend it. It’s a great little device. Great for the gym if you are a serious lifter and you know get one.
